Unfortunately, there really is no foolproof or guaranteed way to get rid of our uncomfortable feelings and emotions. We try again and again, doing the same things that have never worked and expect things to go differently. Ironically, it’s often our efforts to control the way we think that contribute to our problems and consume our time, energy, and attention. Meanwhile we miss out on so many important and meaningful experiences and opportunities.

Fortunately, there is a solution. You don’t have to suffer with anxiety and stress. The alternative is simple, but not always so easy. It’s unintuitive because we are naturally problem solvers. But we can learn to stop struggling. And when we walk away from the constant battle to control our emotions, the relationship we have with our psychological pain changes, and our lives are greatly enhanced and enriched.

      Hello James,
Thank you for your feedback. The purpose of this post is to explore the impossibility and futility of doing just that, getting rid of anxiety forever. So many of us struggle with difficult feelings like anxiety, and we believe the only way we can feel better is to get rid of our feelings. But part of being alive, of being human, is to experience uncomfortable feelings. I have seen how impactful this perspective can be and hope it does not appear insensitive. I am happy to discuss further, and will consider how to make the article a little more clear. Thanks for the feedback!
      Yisrael
